Success for our future
“We can let the circumstances of our lives harden us so that we become increasingly resentful and afraid, or we can let them soften us, and make us kinder. You always have the choice.” “When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts.” – Dalai Lama
What is the School Community Council?
The School Community Council is a parent teacher organization (PTO) that gives parents and teachers the opportunity to work together to supplement and enrich the educational experience.
Our main goal is to build a strong, well-functioning environment for every student to thrive while preparing for the transition into Middle School and/or High School. The board is made up of parents and guardians who regularly speak with other district parents and community members to understand the basic needs, and wants of the schools. The board members then act as a liaison between the school and the community.
In a roundtable meeting with school staff of all levels, our council is able to hear the goals set by the school and align those goals with the needs and wants of the community. We aim to assist both sides physically and finically in achieving the goals set, and to be a reliable resource for shared progress and other pertinent information.
